We believe in transparency, and that includes being clear about how sales tax works. Here is a guide to understanding sales tax on your Misfits Market orders:

Sales tax is determined by state and local regulations, as well as the category of items you purchase. It's helpful to know that in many states, most grocery items are exempt from sales tax.

You can find your sales tax information in a few places:

* An **estimated tax** amount is always visible at the bottom of your cart as you shop.

* This estimate is also included in your **order confirmation email**, which you'll receive after your shopping window closes.

* The **final tax amount** for your order is listed on the invoice, which you can find on your "Orders" page in your account.

#### **Updates for Pennsylvania, Nebraska, and New Mexico**

To comply with state laws, we have recently begun collecting sales tax in Pennsylvania, Nebraska, and New Mexico. While most of your groceries remain tax-free, some items are considered taxable under state guidelines.

* **In Pennsylvania:** Tax applies to items such as prepared foods and soft drinks.

* **In Nebraska & New Mexico:** Tax applies to items such as prepared foods, candy, dietary supplements, and soft drinks.
